A Seed…..

In the late second century, the church Father Tertullian wrote: “The blood of Christians is seed,”

Because opposition helped spread Christianity. Luke recorded many of these persecutions in the book of Acts.  Paul wrote from prison that he suffered gladly because it helped him to know Christ better and do Christ’s work for the church( Philippian’s 3:10, Colossians 1:24) The early church thrived, despite intense persecution.  ~ STUDY NOTE: NLT STUDY BIBLE- LUKE 21:12-13

Jesus warned that in the coming persecution his followers would be betrayed by their family members and friends. Christians of every age have had to face this possibility. It is re-assuring to know that even when we feel abandoned, the Holy Spirit will stay with us. He will comfort us, protect us, and give us the words we need. This assurance can give us the hope and courage to stand firm for Christ no matter how difficult the situation. ~ STUDY NOTE: NLT STUDY BIBLE – LUKE 21:14-19

‘But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me. So don’t worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!’ LUKE 21:12-15 NLT
