Stolen moments……

Early in the morning. It’s still dark. You slip out of bed. Quietly put on warm clothes, the feel of the warm material ever so gentle on your skin. You grab the dog, and the leash, and head out for a walk on your own before the day starts – Ahhh, that first breath of cool fresh air, feels so good – I can feel the stress leave my body as I exhale a deep breath of cold, cold air – a few minutes to myself before the day gets started, But No, it’s too good to be true – I hear little footsteps running behind me, only to turn around and find my daughter chasing after me – I sigh, “what are you doing?” I ask, “I wanted to go for a walk…..”, was the reply. And so, for today, my time to myself is forgotten….maybe tomorrow….

Today…You will be with me in Paradise…

‘One of the criminals hanging beside him said, “So your the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself – and us too while your at it!” But the other criminal protested, “Don’t your fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.”, Then he said “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”‘   LUKE 23:39-43

Jesus’ words show us that our deeds don’t save us – our faith in Christ does. It is never too late to turn to God. As this man was about to die, he turned to Christ for forgiveness and Christ accepted him. Even in his misery, Jesus had mercy on this criminal who decided to believe in him. Our lives will be much more useful and fulfilling if we turn to God early, but even those who repent at the very last moment will be with God in paradise.  STUDY NOTE: NLT STUDY BIBLE ~ Luke 23:39-40

The Good News…

“This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel – that there is PEACE with GOD through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.”        ACTS 10:36

In telling others about Christ, an effective witness must include more than being a good example. Eventually, we will have to  explain the content – the what and the how of the Gospel. Modeling the Christian life is important, but we will need to connect the mind of the unbeliever and the message of the Gospel. There should never be a debate between those who favor life-style evangelism ( one’s living proclaims the gospel) and confrontational evangelism ( declaring the message.)

Both should be used together in promoting the gospel. STUDY NOTE: NLT STUDY BIBLE – Romans 10:14-15

Ostentatious….hmmmm

The dictionary defines Ostentatious as characterized as pretentious, showy or vulgar behaviour. Such as ‘books that people buy and display ostentatiously without ever finishing.’

I love language, I enjoy learning the real meaning of a word. I will admit, I am the kind of person who likes to correct another’s grammar – I just can’t stand when someone is pronouncing a word wrong, or using it in the wrong grammatical format. So I enjoy participating in the DAILY PROMPT, exercising my brain and learning the true meaning of a word.

Ostentatious: This is one thing I try very hard not to be. But maybe by trying not to be showy – am I actually being showy?

I hate making people feel bad about themselves. There is so much competition in the world. I hate making people feel as though they need to compete.  I try to keep to myself, travel on my journey. I have learned people don’t need to hear advice. They need to hear you are in the same spot they are. They don’t need to hear about how you’ve changed or did this in your life, by doing this – we can appear ostentatious.

I myself, try to be humble, not vulgar. Trying to show restraint, not be too showy. I would never like to hurt someone else’s feelings. I actually really have a hard time with people who are ostentatious, because I try so hard not to be ostentatious.

In a world where there is competition in everything, being ostentatious may seem like the way to get ahead in life, but as I have watched people I have known, it looks like being humble, respectful and full of restraint gets people a lot further in life than being ostentatious.

Hello Friends….

Hello There! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to write…..

But, all the while, my heart yearns for the pen to meet the paper….

Life is busy. As a mother of three young kids – I have to make the effort to carve out time for myself and still accomplish my goals while being the best mother I know how.

There’s lots of bumps along the way. Big Bumps. Yes, we are a Christian home, but sometimes the “F-Bomb” does get dropped in our house – And I quietly ask the Lord to help me not mess up next time, not loose my cool. For me, that’s where writing comes in. It’s a release. A release from the pressures of motherhood. A release from pressure’s of everyday life. Life is tough sometimes.

We – I,  am not perfect – there are lots of messy days, but I know My heavenly Father is leading me – slowly, surely, peacefully to the woman he wants me to be.

As a new, young( I mean, I have only been giving this writing thing a try for a few months) writer….I just pray that others are able to see Jesus through my words.

I am hoping to be able to post more soon! Please bear with me, I am going to be making some changes to my Blog. When I first started this journey. I wanted to share Jesus. I still want to continue to do that…but I also would like to share about other experiences in my life. So please forgive the ‘construction’ on my blog, as I figure out all that I will be sharing. Thank You for your support! Looking forward to building relationships in the blogging community!
